Be a Hero"Think it. See it. Do it.
We dream. We have passionate ideas about what’s possible in this world. Our passions lead us to create experiences and realities that expand our world and inspire those around us GoPro helps people capture and share their lives’ most meaningful experiences with others—to celebrate them together. Like how a day on the mountain with friends is more meaningful than one spent alone, the sharing of our collective experiences makes our lives more fun. The world’s most versatile cameras are what we make. Enabling you to share your life through incredible photos and videos is what we do. This is your life...GoPro." Social ResponsibilityGoPro has made global social responsibility part of their business model, because their idea of success includes giving back. They have created GoPro for a Cause.
"By providing capture equipment, media production, content distribution and financial support, GoPro for a Cause helps altruistic individuals and organizations grow their movements, share their stories, and inspire the world." They have supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mauli Ola Foundation, Bicycles Against Poverty, and Oceanic Preservation Society, to name a few. |
Customers are invited to share the GoPro causes and photos to spread global awareness. Their website provides an opportunity to donate to causes, as well as submit your own cause-related photos and videos.
GoPro is for Doers
GoPro embraces active, adventurous people. People that want to experience, explore, and live to the fullest. This is obvious in the content that they put out, but also in the flexibility of the product. The GoPro cameras are standard across activities, but there is a full range of accessories for your sport or hobby. There are selfie sticks for families and couples, handle bar mounts for cyclists and BMX riders, waterproof casing and mounts for surfing, snorkeling, or kayaking, adjustable mounts and tripods for musicians, and more. The product is made to be incredibly versatile so that it can fit any lifestyle or adventure.
Submitted Content
The thing that I love the most about GoPro is the way that they invite engagement with their brand. User-submitted content is used in GoPro social media, on their website, and even in advertising. Their mission is to help people capture and share their passions with the world, and they follow that mission by posting, almost exclusively, content created by their users. They even offer "GoPro Awards," cash prizes for the best submitted pictures and videos. Their social media (below) shows that GoPro emphasizes the content, or the experiences people have while using their product, rather than necessarily highlighting the product itself. This is what makes people feel a part of the GoPro brand, because they can relate to the content produced and the active users.
